Lorestan University started its educational activity in the field of veterinary education since 1372 by accepting students in the associate degree in veterinary medicine as a teaching group in the Faculty of Agriculture, and in 1380, it started accepting students in the bachelor's degree in veterinary laboratory sciences. In 1390, due to the increase in the number of faculty members and the creation of a suitable platform such as infrastructure and the completion of the new building of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine with an infrastructure of about 6000 square meters, on four floors, in the Kamalvand campus, as well as equipping the laboratories of parasitology, histology and damage Biology, Bacteriology, Immunology and Molecular Cell Laboratory, Physiology, Biochemistry and Anatomy Hall accepted students in professional veterinary medicine doctorate and master's degrees in parasitology and bacteriology. Since 1390, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine has been accepting students continuously in the aforementioned courses, as well as since 1397 in the course of Veterinary Laboratory Sciences. The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Lorestan University currently consists of four educational groups: "Basic Sciences", "Microbiology and Food Hygiene of the Faculty", "Clinical Sciences" and "Pathobiology". From the subgroups of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the specialized veterinary hospital with relevant specializations in the departments of: internal medicine of small and large animals, surgery, necropsy, poultry, laboratory, radiology and pharmacy is providing educational and treatment services.
